Spike has canceled the fantasy drama, The Shannara Chronicles, after two seasons and 20 episodes, reports TV Guide.
The show, whose first season aired on MTV before moving over to Spike for season two, is the first casualty of the rebranding of Spike to the Paramount Network. The channel will get its new name starting tomorrow, and along with it, a decidedly different programming philosophy.

The only good news for fans of The Shannara Chronicles is that the show’s producers are expected to search for yet another home for a third season.
The drama starred Austin Butler as a part-human, part elf whose destiny is to save the mythical Four Lands from demons. Now we’ll see if the producers can save the show from those real-life demons who run television networks.

This show belongs on FreeForm- I really hope it’s one of the networks they’re considering. I really like the show and would love another season; there are so many interesting story lines to be told!!
