Netflix Adds 60 New Titles Today

The list includes arguably the greatest films of all time.

Netflix today is adding 60 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup, including some films that most critics place among the greatest movies in American cinematic history.

The new titles today are led by Francis Ford Coppola’s Godfather trilogy, which starred Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan, Robert DeNiro and Robert Duvall as members of the ruthless Corleone crime family.

While most critics agree that The Godfather III was uneven at best (director Coppola felt financial pressure to do the film), the Godfather and Godfather II can fairly be called the two best films ever made with either serving as number one.

Other notable additions today:  The Shawshank Redemption, the 1994 prison drama starring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman which itself has been called one of the greatest movies ever; five different Batman movies; four different Lethal Weapon films; and season one of Glace (The Frozen Dead), a Netflix original drama about the search for a serial killer in the French mountainside.

Netflix today is also adding season three of Lovesick, the Netflix original comedy made in Great Britain.
