Amazon this week plans to add 48 new TV shows and movies to its Prime streaming lineup, including a critically-acclaimed Amazon original comedy, and an NFL Thursday night game between historic rivals.
The new titles will include season one of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (pictured above), an Amazon original comedy starring Rachel Brosnahan (House of Cards) as a Jewish housewife in the 1950s who yearns to become a comedienne. The season’s first episode, which is already available on Amazon Prime, received nearly unanimous praise from the critics with a score of 95 out of a possible 100 at RottenTomatoes.com.

“Rachel Brosnahan grabs the screen from her opening monologue in a wedding dress … and doesn’t let up in a performance that whipsaws between fast-talking comedy and overshared upper-middle-class angst,” wrote Thelma Adams of The New York Observer.
Also notable this week: Thursday night’s NFL matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins, which begins at 8:25 p.m. ET.
