DIRECTV to Add Russia Today

DIRECTV will add RT, formerly known as Russia Today, on Monday, August 28, the channel has announced at its Twitter site.

It’s unclear if the channel will be available in High-Definition as well as standard-definition. RT does broadcast in both formats.

RT is a 24/7 news channel that provides live news reports, documentaries and talk shows supporting the view of the Russian government, which funds the channel.

While the channel’s mission clearly is to voice the objectives of the Putin regime, American politicians such as former Rep. Ron Paul are frequent guests.
