Amazon today is selling the Amazon Echo for just $129.99, which is $50 off the regular price, and the lowest price ever for the digital assistant.
It’s unclear if the new price is a short-term deal, or a permanent reduction. Update: Amazon on Tuesday raised the price back to $179.
The Echo, a 37-ounce, cone-shaped device, comes with a voice-activated system that will listen to and act on your commands such:
* Playing music from Amazon Music, Spotify, Pandora, iHeartRadio and TuneIn:
* Answering questions about everything from science to history to current events and much more;
* Reading audiobooks;
* Providing up-to-the-minute news, sports and weather reports;
* Controlling lights, switches and thermostats with compatible devices;
Alexa, the name of the Echo’s ‘voice,’ will even order pizza from Domino’s or a car service from Uber, among other tasks.
In addition to the normal delivery service, the Echo is now available for free one-day delivery to Prime members, which means it will be delivered tomorrow.
