Starting today, DIRECTV Now is giving away a one free month of its $35-a-month plan to any Best Buy customer who buys an Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku Premiere or Google Chromecast.
The offer, which is good for both online and retail purchases of the streaming devices, extends until August 25.
The $35-a-month plan, called ‘Live a Little,” offers roughly 60 channels including A&E, AMC, BBC America, Comedy Central, ESPN, Fox News Channel and CNN, among many others.
DIRECTV Now, a live streaming service owned by AT&T, debuted on November 30. AT&T said the service generated more than 200,000 paying customers in the first month.
However, it has been plagued with recurring technical errors from the start which has likely led to a reduction in subscriber growth in the last few months. Bloomberg has reported that the service actually lost a net of 3,000 subs in February and March combined.
