fuboTV this week is scoring big time.
The sports-themed live streaming service announced on Monday that it had raised $55 million from such investors as Fox, Scripps Interactive and Sky TV.
And today, the company disclosed that it has signed a major carriage deal with several CBS-owned channels, further bolstering its lineup. (The CBS channels are expected to be added later this summer.)
fubo said the deal includes CBS Sports Network, The CW, Pop, CBSN (the network’s 24-hour streaming service), and Showtime.
In addition, the agreement will enable fubo to add the following 14 CBS-owned and operated local affiliates in the markets they serve:
WCBS-TV, New York; KCBS-TV, Los Angeles; WBBM-TV, Chicago; KYW-TV, Philadelphia; KTVT-TV, Dallas-Ft. Worth; KPIX-TV, San Francisco; WBZ-TV, Boston; WWJ-TV, Detroit; WCCO-TV, Minneapolis; KCNC-TV, Denver; WFOR-TV, Miami; KOVR-TV, Sacramento; KDKA-TV, Pittsburgh; and WJZ-TV, Baltimore.
fubo will also be able to offer eight CBS-owned affiliates of The CW in the markets they serve:
WPSG-TV, Philadelphia; KBCW-TV, San Francisco; WUPA-TV, Atlanta; WKBD-TV, Detroit; KSTW-TV, Seattle; WTOG-TV, Tampa-St. Petersburg; KMAX-TV, Sacramento; and WPCW-TV, Pittsburgh.
And finally, three CBS-owned independent stations will be added: KCAL-TV, Los Angeles; KTXA-TV, Dallas; and WLNY-TV, New York; and two MyNetwork affiliates, WSBK-TV, Boston and WBFS-TV, Miami.
The CBS deal is a big deal for fubo TV, considering that streaming rivals DIRECTV Now and Sling TV have not reached an agreement with the network and its channels.
The CBS channels (except Showtime, which will be sold separately) will be included in fubo TV’s Premier package which today is selling for $34.99 a month, a $15 discount from its regular price. The Premier package has more than 60 live streaming channels.
