To watch 4K on DIRECTV, you must get a compatible 4K TV, a DIRECTV HD DVR54 Genie System (or above), and installation of the Genie by a DIRECTV technician.
DIRECTV has changed the minimum package required to get its live 4K channel to Select so more subscribers could access it as well as the satcaster’s two other 4K channels, which are devoted to recurring programming and Video on Demand. However, the MLB games require a Choice package or above because the MLB Network channel is not available in the Select plan.

What about NORMAL Viewers who want NORNAL TV Shows ?
NO Sports !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m a NORMAL viewer and IMHO, 4K is best for sports. I just don’t see much gain in regular movies. There is a lot of 4K content on Amazon Prime Video and some on NetFlix.
