Son of Zorn was an odd mix of live action and animation with Cheryl Hines in live action playing the ex-wife to an animated South Pacific warrior named Zorn (voiced by Jason Sudeikis).
Despite the vast talents of Hines (Curb Your Enthusiasm) and Sudeikis (Saturday Night Live), the show drew mixed reviews with RottenTomatoes.com giving it a score of 57 out of a possible 100.

“Son Of Zorn and The Last Man On Earth…and Will Forte’s – are about weirdness and silliness. They’re about doing everything at an angle. Normal, after all, is overrated,” wrote Linda Holmes of NPR.
The viewers also had trouble making sense of the premise; the debut episode captured more than six million viewers but the second installment plunged to fewer than three million.
