The company is able to offer Manchester By the Sea earlier than normal on Prime because it produced the movie through its Amazon Studios.

Manchester By the Sea, which netted six Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, tells the tale of a Boston sanitation worker (Affleck) who suddenly learns that his late brother has made him guardian of his teenage son.
Affleck, who won the Academy Award for Best Actor for the role, returns to his hometown, Manchester By the Sea, to care for the boy, but is immediately haunted by the ghosts he left behind.
