Season one of 13 Reasons Why, the Gomez-McCarthy show about teen suicide, is based on a best-selling book by the same name. Katherine Langford stars as Hannah, a young girl who takes her own life while Dylan Minnette plays the boy who finds a tape recording left behind explaining the 13 reasons why she did.

The first season will include 13 episodes, two of which will be directed by McCarthy who helmed the Oscar-winning movie, Spotlight. While Gomez is serving as an executive producer, she will not appear in the series in season one.
