The USA Network has cancelled the drama, Eyewitness, after one season, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

The show, which featured two teenage boys who witness a triple homicide, was based on a Norwegian series and debuted on October 16 of last year.

Catherine Hardwicke, who directed the Twilight movie series, was the executive producer and directed the first two episodes, notes The Hollywood Reporter.

And RottenTomatoes.com says Eyewitness scored 83 out of a possible 100 on its ‘Tomatometer,’ meaning 10 of 12 critics in its survey gave the show high marks.

However, Eyewitness never generated more than one million viewers per episode and the ratings declined after its debut.

For USA Network, which is aggressively trying to keep pace with drama factories AMC and FX, that was enough to lower the ax.
