Comcast is bringing the ‘cable guy’ experience into the modern age with a new app feature that will alert a customer when a technician or installer is 30 minutes away from his or her home.
The feature, which is now part of Comcast’s ‘My Account’ app, which is available on Android and iOS systems, will also enable the customer to see a photo and name of the technician.
Amazon: Roku 32-inch Smart TV: $169.
This should help prevent situations where a criminal poses as a technician to gain entry into one’s home.
Amazon: Sony 55-inch 4K TV: $798.
The app also includes a map which will let the subscribers follow the progress of the technician’s journey, all the way until he or she reaches the home.

Comcast is hoping the app will reduce the wait time for appointments as well as improve company relations with its customers.
