To celebrate its second birthday, Sling TV this weekend is holding a free preview of its $20-a-month Orange plan
The preview, which will run from Saturday at 9 a.m. ET to 3 a.m. ET on Monday, will not require a credit card. To watch, you will just have to go to sling.com/watchfree and sign up.
Sling TV, a live TV streaming service, offers two basic tier packages — Orange, which starts at $20-a-month and includes ESPN and roughly 30 cable networks; and Blue, which starts at $25-a-month, and includes more than 40 channels including live network feeds in select markets as well as several Fox channels.
The Orange plan includes AMC so the free preview will enable you to watch the mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead.
Later this month, Sling TV will also offer all subscribers a free preview of the HBO and Starz channels. Dates and times will be announced later.
Finally, the Dish-owned Net TV service said it will soon launch a ‘cloud DVR’ on Amazon and Android TV devices and the Apple TV. Sling TV did not give launch dates.
