Comcast this month has dropped the three Fox College Sports channels, FCS Pacific, FCS Atlantic and FCS Central.

The move was part of the cable operator’s new carriage agreement with Fox which allows it to continue carrying the Fox News Channel and resume airing the Yes Network after a year-long absence. (Comcast has not revealed a launch date for Yes, but it’s expected prior to the opening of the New York Yankees’ 2017 regular season).

However, the decision to drop the three college sports channels was largely overlooked due to the greater interest in Yes and Fox News.

Comcast has notified subscribers in this month’s bills that the Fox College Sports Channels will no longer be available in their lineups.

The cable operator did not give a reason for the change, but the three channels do poorly in the ratings and some pay TV operators are looking to jettison niche networks with small audiences.

The three Fox channels air live college games, including football and basketball, but many of those games can be seen on other Fox-owned networks.
