Dish could lose two CBS affiliates this weekend due to a fee fight with their owner, Griffin Communications.

The two stations, KWTV-TV of Oklahoma City, and KOTV-TV of Tulsa, Oklahoma, have posted notices at their web sites, alerting Dish viewers they could lose their signals at midnight on December 31.

“Currently, News On 6 is negotiating with DISH Network to continue providing News On 6 and CBS programming to DISH.We want nothing more than to continue to provide this to Oklahomans, but there is a possibility that DISH could drop News On 6 & CBS programming starting Dec. 31 at midnight,” the KOTV notice reads.

“Only Griffin can force a blackout of its channels,” Dish said in a statement released Friday. “Dish is actively working to reach a deal before the contract expires. Dish has successfully negotiated agreements representing hundreds of stations in recent months that benefit all parties, including our viewers. We are unsure why Griffin decided to involve customers in the contract negotiation process at a point where there is still time for the two parties to reach a mutually beneficial deal.”

Update: Dish last night lost the NBC affiliate in Salt Lake City due to a separate fee fight with its owner, Bonneville International.

Dish said last night that Bonneville has blacked out its viewers “to gain deal leverage as it seeks above-market rate increases nearly 250 percent the current Dish rate.”

Bonneville counters it’s only seeking what other  pay TV providers have paid.
